A Timeline of the Kollel
1824 · The Beginning
The heritage of Kollel Rabbi Meir Baal Haness Siebenburgen traces its roots to 1824 and to leading Gedolim of that generation.
1855 · Siebenburgen and Yerushalayim
Historical accounts preserve memories of Jewish leaders who came from the communities of Siebenburgen and became active in the holy work of the Kollel in Yerushalayim.
1899 · Appointment of a Shadar
Rabbi Yehuda Aharon Segal Weiss was appointed as an emissary for Kollel Siebenburgen, supported by rabbinic authorization from Yerushalayim.
1903 · Continued Support
Historical notices authorized continued fundraising and collection of pledges for the needs of the Kollel and the families it supported.
Today · The Mission Continues
More than two centuries later, the work continues through Torah, Chesed, Tzedakah and support for families in Eretz Yisroel.
